Emma & Enda met on Emma’s first day in NUIG back in 2006 where Enda was in his third year of an engineering degree and Emma had just started studying archaeology and geography. However, according to Emma it was a 6 months later before they went on their first official date!
Skip ahead 2 years and the they moved in together in Enda’s home town in Donegal, while Emma continued to do a masters in Science in Belfast.
Once the recession hit the couple left Ireland and spent time traveling through Asia & Australia before deciding to settle for a while in Wellington NZ. They loved NZ but living so far away from family and friends was hard so in 2012 they packed their bags again and moved to London where Emma began studying to become a teacher.
Enda proposed one dark & rainy evening on a park bench beside a canal in London, December 2013, and a day later he flew to Thailand for a month for work!
Their wedding ceremony and reception was in Barnabrow house, Midleton, East Cork,
They had a harpist and a traditional band playing on the decking on a beautifully sunny day and the atmosphere was so warm and relaxed as you can see from the images below.
Their first dance as a married couple was to the Kodaline song " The One" played by J90, who Emma had known for a long time as they used to play every Monday night in the Grand, in Killarney were both Emma & I used to work back in 2004 & 2006/7 !
